Premiers Grands Prix in painting and sculpture, 1663 – 1968

For nearly three centuries, the Prix de Rome opened the doors of the Villa Medici to the finest young artists of France. Here, year by year, are all the Premiers Grands Prix in painting and sculpture, until the competition was abolished in 1968. Among them, the painter Jean Marc Lange (1965) and the sculptor Jacqueline Georges Deyme (1963).
